So...apparently I'm not busy enough. I need more to do as I'm not taking classes this semester ($$ issues and I'd like to actually see my husband more than 3 nights a week). So, instead of telling LJ I'm bored, because the LJ PTBs hear that and decide to send my life to hell in a hand-basket, I'm making my own fun.
And going slightly out of my mind.
I've fixated on an odd combination of Jack and Daniel (Stargate: SG-1) slash and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire anything. I just got finished reading Dr. Jackson's Diary and then went directly into Jack's Journal. At work I'm all about the HP & GoF. I have both trailers...actually, I have FOUR trailers. *shakes head* The teaser trailer released in May, the official trialer released in August, the official European trailer also released in August (so much cooler than the US version, they must think we're plebians) and the fan-made trailer that uses the new HP GoF LEGO set. God I need help.
But I'm not stopping. Because if I stop, something terrible in RL is going to happen that I have to deal with. And I'm enjoying riding the phunky high.
God, I'm almost 25 and I'm breathlessly awaiting the release of Harry Potter (November 18th for those who don't know)! How sad is this?

I hear you
As much as everyone I know (including my husband, parents and in-laws) believe that the Harry Potter franchise is evil and demonic, I still absolutely LOVE the movies and books. I've only read the first book but I've seen all the movies that came out and I am eagerly awaiting Goblet of Fire.So much so I wish I could dress up as a witch for Halloween. Pointy hat and all. But we don't celebrate that in the stuck up household from hell, so I must forgo all urges to be evil next month and ride a broomstick.
Guess I'll have to get rid of that wart I was going to put on my nose.

Re: I hear you
You could do what my country family does. Since they are all fundamental Southern Baptists, they don't celebrate Halloween. Instead they celebrate Fall Harvest, where everyone dresses up as something related to that theme. The one year my family joined them I was dressed as a crow. Black jeans, long sleeve T-shirt, and a yellow cardboard beak. God I hated it.Anyways, Mavis says that if you want, you can borrow one of our copies of the rest of the books. We've got them all (except the last one - Book 6) in hardback and paperback. Which would you prefer? We've also got all three movies in widescreen, but those have apparently been promised to her boss as soon as she gets back to work next week.

Re: I hear you
Yeah I know about the Fall Harvest Festival thing. My town here does something like that every year, as well as many churches in the area. My church had one last year as well. A family that went to the church had a rather large estate, and allowed the church members to come out for hay rides and a barbecue and some games and we even had a costume contest. Unfortunately, it rained that entire weekend, and we opted not to go and get wet.If you're willing, I'd love to borrow books 2 and 3.
I'd actually like to see you guys soon (if I don't go down to Galveston to help my grandparents clean up after Rita) so if you guys want to get together soon, just let me know.

Re: I hear you
Ok. We're doing this thing called the Cowtown Brushup on Saturday...And Sunday we're going to church/Sunday School at noon. We're usually free around 4pm on Sunday. The Cowtown Brushup starts at 7, 7:30, 8am and lasts until the houses we're going to paint get painted. That's usually around 1 or 2pm.Call me and we'll see what we can do. And if it works out we'll make sure you get Chamber of Secrets and Prisner of Azkaban...
Blessed be,
Mavis

Re: I hear you
AS of last Friday night I have come down with something... I'm not sure what it is but I've been battling a fever on and off for the past couple days. I have a wicked wheezy-cough and some icky nausea. I even had to cancel my therapy session for yesterday. But she did give me some good nutritional tips to help me get better soon. I'm hoping that I start to get better this week soon. I'll let you know how it progresses. Also my father-in-law is supposed to be coming into town this weekend... I still haven't had a definite yes from him, so I don't know yet.
I guess I'll just have to keep you posted. The minute I want to go do something it seems something (or someone) always comes up. I hate that. But the minute I start feeling better I'll let you know.
